Perched on a grassy rise with sweeping views of the Hudson River and West Point beyond, this cedar-clad pool house offers a tranquil retreat just steps from the main residence. A singular gabled form, inspired by the region’s rural vernacular, nestles into the hillside with quiet elegance, its natural materials designed to silver and soften with time.

Inside, an open living area is anchored by a suspended corner fireplace, providing warmth through the cooler seasons. Sliding glass doors frame the landscape, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior, while polished concrete floors and white oak millwork introduce a sense of grounded simplicity. Down a narrow hallway that doubles as a mudroom, a quiet bedroom at the eastern edge embraces the morning light through expansive glazing. A built-in desk and storage wall allow the space to function as both guest room and home office.

Outside, a bluestone terrace extends the living space toward a hillside hot tub—ideal for sunsets and stargazing—offering a place of both stillness and connection in the Hudson Valley.

This modern retreat pairs warm, natural materials with purposeful simplicity, creating a quiet refuge for gathering, working, and taking in the beauty of the river below.
